    download.com
    search for spybot and/or adaware.

use this on your HD. If you have file sharing software like kazaa that may be causing the problem.
Be aware that using spybot and the like could cause your file sharing to stop functioning.

If you have windows 2000/xp, then the problem could be with messenger which is on your pc, to disable it follow theses instructions:

Start > Settings > Control Panel

    Select 'Administrative Tools'

    Select 'Services'

Scroll down to 'Messenger', double click on it.

Select 'Stop' at service status and then select 'Disabled' from the drop down menu

    Select 'Apply'

    Select 'OK'

Still having problems removing this crap can you recommend a specific program to remove this.

It keeps changing my homepage and launching pop ups at sites that don't have pop ups

No it's not MSN messenger. It is used to send a windows message alert to a machine over the network.

    You do something like..

    net send machineName "message"

have a look at the Stickies on this forum and on the Security one for links to handy apps

you should have some class of firewall / AV / malware blocker etc.

Porn Dialler Anyone ? be very afraid of the bill From Eircom, €216.00 an hour at all times.

Spybot Search and Destroy AND Adaware . Download both, install them , update them and run them . Spybot will immunise you (link into your browser) after you have cleaned your PC fully. Do not run either with your browser active or the phone line plugged in.

    Update regularly and run periodically.

    Get a firewall too.
