Any ideas on how to convert Windows Media Player files to MP3.

I have managed to get my hands on a H/D with over 2500 songs on it in media player format and would like to burn to CD for the MP3 player in the car.

I''d use SoundForge myself but it's rather expensive. Nero will happily do a batch job if you have the necessary filters installed.

Other than that, have a poke around on doom9.org (or even download.com) and see if there's anything there.

Converting from one lossy format into another isn't ideal for quality but I assume you know that anyway.

I'm assuming you don't want to completely waste your money by using WMP to write the tracks to CD as PCM audio & then to compress them again:)
