    Hi,

    A large sunspot has appeare over the last few days. Its large enough to be seen with the naked eye. As usual dont look directy use a filter or projection etc.

    Images are availbale on http://www.spaceweather.com (and other places)

    Wow! That sunspot looks spectacular from the SpaceWeather.com / SOHO images. I presume there is a decent chance we might get an aurora visible from Ireland if there is a CME over the next few days ?

    Yep, theres a fair chance of it alright, http://spacew.com/ , http://www.sec.noaa.gov/pmap/ etc. should have details as they occur.

    Some IAS folks will be in Iceland this weekend so hopefully they will being back some video foorage of any aurora activity they see there.

    Nice one! I'll be watching the skies this weekend, hopefully the clear weather will continue. If you get any footage/pics from Iceland, it would be great to see them at some stage.
