I heard something over the weekend that it's now possible to receive broadband internet access through your existing Sky satellite dish for a fee of something in the order of €18 or €19 per month but the person who relayed this info to me couldn't shed any further light on the subject. Anyone aware of anything?

got a skystar2 card off www.dvbshop.tv for 80 euro including delivery. got it for watching the satellite through the pc and tv-out,already have dsl, but it says you can use it for broadband through a satellite. know nothing about broadband through satellite myself but worth checking out. have a look at this link for info http://forums.dvbnetwork.com/viewforum.php?f=23&sid=2430020e937b09b750e6246db9d89256

the sounds like http://www.europeonline.com/ but it would be a oneway service so you would still have to do your uploads over the phoneline, so it wouldnt be always on

Do a boards search on 'Silvermead' and then on 'Central Point' - those threads will give you a basic knowledge of whats available and the problems associated with sat broadband.
