Ok, only non-digital RPG i ever played was warhammer quest, and that kinda sucked, so how about good old fashioned D&D, (i played it in a MUD once and enjoyed..........till i died)

Personally I'd like to try something a bit sci-fi. I've always had a yen to try something along the lines of Paranoia but I never got around to it. Not sure if it would fit in well with the Play by boards theme but it might be interesting to try.

But I'll go with the flow and see where it takes me

Right so, games....

Paranoia is a larf admitedly.

Don't really feel all that much like playing a fantasy type game...

There isn't really any need to stick too closely to specific rules systems in this format. As long as decisions are made fairly (but with a degree of dice-esqueness) the specifics aren't all that important (in my view).

There's always the possibility of a slightly mixed genre type of a game. I too enjoy the sci-fi games, they seem to work well in this format and the availability of devices like "comms links" makes possible the kind of interplayer communication that the medium of PBEM suggests. However I also like horror, appealling as it does to my sense of the macabre and my enjoyment of absorbing myself in ghoulish descriptions....

I'd be happy enough with horror or sci-fi...or both...

Zmek will remain on Mort where he belongs...that's if he really belongs anywhere...only time will tell where his path may lead...

Swashbuckling is always fun. I think I'll be happy as long as there's swords!

AD&D is a good system for just about anything. You just have to make the spell names sound a bit more like psychic powers...

Well lets see if any one is brave, daring or damned silly enough to indugle me in some old style 2nd ed AD&D.

I wanna run Dragon mountain

yup, all of it all 3 parts and the utterly horrendus sprawling story line , which will undergo a fair few changes cos well I;m running it

I have never had a RL gaming group stand up to the chanllenge, the seemed to Die a lot or flee and not play it again with me.

required 4 to 6 players with a lil bit if D&Ding experience
no rule lawyers need apply, char will be pre gened by me and starting at levels 12 to 15.

hell i'd play Dragon mountain no worries, count me in, The advantage as zmek put it with this type of game is that allot of dice rolls really arent neccary

So i can continue to run SLA (thats a Sci - FI game)
Thaed has volunteered to run AD&D (ye good ole medevil game) (gods bless you my dear your a star)

realistically that leaves one slot open left for gaming if someone wants to volunteer to DM then they can pick the game, im gonna post something in the admin form tonight so we wont start the games just yet once we have all 3 DM's and games then we can make a start

I have a cunning plan, trust me its that damn cunning.

Folks can you please bear with us as this may not actually get kicked off until the new year specky has responsibilities at home this xmass and thaed as far as i can rememeber dragon mountain was one scary ass D&D game so that logisitics of that will take time to orginazie

BUT the wheels are in montion so watch this space the SLA game is already started so if you want to play SCI FI PM me i'll see what i can do.

id love the play the horror one sounds great. but im really busy over the x-mass period and well into the 1st quarter of the new year. I'll try my best if i can i'll try to join up with the horror game, but im still sticking to SLA for now im really enjoying it

Well from the playing point of view, I'm sticking with SLA. I'll plump for a bit of Dragon Mountain I suppose...just 'cos I'm very afraid of missing out on anything that might be fun.

On the horror front I have a couple of ideas that might work well. I'll put together some profiles of what I'd like to do over the next week or so and let people decide for themselves what they'd like to play. Simply put it'll be a choice between good old fashioned Call of Cthulhu BTB (by the book), a horror/sci-fi crossover idea I've got kicking around in a seldom visited and somewhat dusty closet at the back of my head or "mystery game" as yet unidentified.

As for the "when", well, as Al][en so kindly pointed out I do have a little distraction at home at the moment. It's pink and squashy and often smells bad. It will probably still smell bad after christmas but I will have gotten used to it by then so I will be able to concentrate on running a game.

I think we'll all just have to wait until after Christmas to start anything serious. I know for a fact that Al][en is already too excited to sleep every night. He's asked for a whole list of new HeroClix figures in his letter to Santi, and I'm pretty sure there'll be tears before breakfast if he doesn't find a whole bunch of those sharp edged little pieces of plastic poking holes in his stocking come the morning of yule....
