Exchange 5.5 Install Loop

    I'm setting up an Exchange 5.5 server (on NT4 SP6a etc.)
    it's joining an existing site - everything works ok - but hangs on the starting other services bit. I can install exchange admin ok - just the server falls over.

    Any Ideas ?

    I've uninstalled and nuked all exchange settings in the reg. including the legacy ones.
    It's a member server - the rest are BDC's
    It's a clean install of NT
    AV disabled
    Setup never finishes - was just sitting there overnight
    can start the services manually (and stop with pskill)
    if end task on setup then have to delete the server from the site before can re run setup - ie. can't choose the reinstall option..

    when I try to install it in it's own site it falls over with an error on the SA service - will chase that down...
