C'mon lads, help me out here ! I need to get onto irc from work. I can't use a normal client so I need someway to do it from telnet (Shell Account)

How can I be kind and help ya's when I can't get into Irc ??

if so, could you just download an irc client ?

nope, me have no unix account - me have nothin on this machinme cept me browser - which is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment :-/

Thanx for your help, but I do have some degree of intelligence

My problem is that theres a firewall here in work and I can't get onto any servers with an IRC client SOooooo the only way to get onto IRC without doing anything "wrong" with the firewall is to get in tru Telnet.

how friendly is the admin ?
get them to allow connections on the irc port ?

the port irc uses opens up a stack of security holes that are just to vile to comprehend.

anyone with an ounce of intelligence could use the open port to do basically what they liked with your network.

not to mention its a damper on the oul productivity.
