AMD Athlon 850, 512 megs of ram, Geforce 3ti200, 20gig HD, 17 inch monitor

My old games machine, goiong to use it as a second workstation and server.

AMD Duron 1.2 gig, 256megs of ram, Radeon 7500, 40 gig HD, 17 inch monitor

The 'family' pc for browsing and stuff.

My new games machine, built up over time bit by bit, just need a decent case and power supply so I can use it to its full extent.

All the computers are hooked upto Netsource 512/128 thru a router/hub.

    6 machines

    1xDuron 900, 512MB, 20gb 7200 IDE, ATI XPERT 8MB
    Main development machine

    1xDuron 1100, 1024MB, 120GB 7200 IDE, Onboard GPU
    Testing machine

    1xAthlonXP 2000+, 512MB RAM, 40GB 7200 IDE, 64MB GeForce MX2
    Games machine

    1xDual P2 400, 256MB RAM 2x20GB IDE Mirrored
Formally a server - expect to see this in some form in For Sale soon :D

    2xP2 450, 256MB RAM, 40GB 7200 IDE, i810 graphics
One is my server in the hall, other is a WinXP machine - now defunct because its been transferred to the testing machine

Have enough parts to almost built two more P2 machines (only need 2 FDDs), expect to see these in For Sale soon too :D

Thank God (or equivalent) for my 4 port Omnicube KVM.
2x 17" monitors, machine in hall has none, use VNC for admin. Like El_MUERkO, connected to a 100mb switch, which is linked to my Dlink router downstairs on netsource.

I've going to rationalise to 4 (3 upstairs and 1 downstairs) soon. Can't live in this mess anymore :)

yea forgot the graphics cards and the internet connection. the workstation (dual athlon) has a Nvidia FX5200 with 128mb ram, 8x agp but running @ 4x cause thats what the board supports. my server, the duron 700, currently has a 32mb AGP card. its running linux with no GUI, but thinking of installing a full copy of linux with the gui or windows 2k server on this soon. the 1.3gz has some crappy 8mb AGP card. my internet connection is NTL cable @ 600k down, 150kup. connected to a router and then on to a 8 port switch (100mb/s). there is a total of 10 ports @ 100mb/s and i have a small 10mb/s PCI hub, which is also a network card, which would have 5 ports, but one connected to an other switch. theres over 100m of cat 5 cable running around the house. want to get some sort of laptop (P2 450+ kind of thing. something that would run win2k, so about 128+mb ram) and a wireless network into the house too. what would be even sweeter would be a DSL line from netsource as well as cable. then i could download even faster, but we can all dream.

LOL. In my case the machine in the hall is on all the time. Development machine is on during awake & in the house time. Other machines are powered on only as per requirement. Its exceptional for me to have more than 3 machines on.

ive got 4 comps (2 laptop, 2 pc) at the moment:

Dell Inspiron 8600, running win2k pro - my comp for general daily usage etc.

Amd Athlon xp2600+, 768mb ram, radeon 9700 pro 120gb hdd, running win2k pro - main gaming/internet/other machine, gonna upgrade to a radeon 9800XT and probably a faster processor in the near future

Amd Duron 1.3ghz, 256ram, 40gb hdd, gf3 ti500, running win2k pro - used mainly for something like playing dvds or making movies and the like, general editing and producing

Dell Inspiron 5100, running win98 - only just aquired this, at the moment its only used for testing out software/hacking and storing random info. its got a removable 60gb hdd stuck onto it full of my mp3's and other downloaded items (never know when the feds might call!)

and of course theres my new 32" tv and sony dvd player (:P) - sorry, just had to boast a little :)

edit: and of course considering all of this **** is in my room (bar the main gaming rig) i have all of about 2 square metres to move about in. glad my bed is comfy :)

the only machines i havent build was my imac, and the 2 dell P2 233s. thats it. my server was my workstation at one stage, got the k6-2 from someone, and had to put it in a case, then the athlon 1.33gz was my workstation after the duron, when the duron was de/premoted, which ever way you want to look at it, and then it became spare after i got my dual athlon. my mac is sitting here running seti, same with the server and workstation. pretty cool.

not really. all my machines are on all the time. workstation is up all the time (runs linux and acts as a mail server), my server is up all the time too (acting as proxy to the network, internal dns and used to run as the main sevrer on my site) and the imac was up all the time too, till i killed it last week. all run seti@home. the only other machines that arent on all the time is my sisters and parents computers, and the 2 im still building fully (athlon 1.3Gz and the K6-2 450).

My laptop has more MHz than the rest of the LAN put together.

    Firewall 466 - (486 - 66MHz) - No HDD, no CD
server 60MHz - pentium (with dodgy fpu)
    router 166MHz
333Mhz is used for email & dialup
There are two laptops in daily use - the one that isn't mine is a 133MHz..
    I've a dual proc 133MHz - but is a tad noisy

(There are some projects I'm doing up for christmas ~ 500MHz range)

    *thinks*

Theres my main machine, a 1.7Ghz Celeron4, dedicated BeOS box. Compiler, media box.
Theres the fileserver, a 300Mhz PII, Linux. Files and compiling
Theres laptop the first - 733Mhz PIII, Windows and BeOS. Development machine
Laptop the second - 233Mhz PII, BeOS. Sits there and looks cool (its a ThinkPad with a certain something about it :-) )

    Thats just in my room

Then theres a number of ancient, unused Macs and Pentium 1 class machines, most of them probably don't work, although I know the Quadra 9000 does.

Then theres my first Pentium, a 75Mhz Packard-Bell, imported from the states, still chugging away, running BeOS again. Its a background noise generator :-)

Probably 15 in total if you count the unused ones

    i have 3

    1. Athlon 2000XP, 256 SDRAM, 14.2GB, DVD, CD-RW, Nvidia TNT2 32MB - Software Testing machine, basiclly anything that i'm afraid/don't want to install on the other machines goes here, it someone asks to test a software for them, i try it here, cause if it screws up this system, it's ok! - this is a very noise computer!

    2. Dell Dimension 8250 - 3,06GHz, 512RDRam, 200GB, DVD, DVD+RW, Radeon 9700 - The Core of my home network, all downloads here, gaming here, heavy video editing here, basiclly everything that takes time and power goes here

    3. Dell Inspiron 5150 - 3.06GHz, 512DDRam, 60GB, DVD-CDRW, Nvidia Geforce Go FX5200 - everyday use, browsing, stuff like that, i use this machine the most

    here's a pic of them
    http://homepage.eircom.net/~titaniumfists/Miscstuff/workplace.jpg
    http://homepage.eircom.net/~titaniumfists/Miscstuff/crashed.jpg
(T-800 scrached on my test pc is because i had 800MHz duron in it and i'm a big fan of the Terminator T-800 model :))

    Gateway P3 500mhz, 640Mb, 10GB HD, geforce2mx 32mb

that abacus acts as filesever, internet gateway and general use for the rest of the family.

    AthlonXP 1500+, 256Mb, 20GB HD, s3 prosavage

little custom asus terminator my sister got put together, i use it for video encoding as tmpgenc seems to loike athlons more than p4s. also used to store crap before buning to cd.

    HP Laptop P4 2.56Ghz, 768Mb, 40GB HD, ATI IGP340

My main computer, not much of a games machine but it emulates just about everything out there full speed so it mainly acts as a playstation and snes.
