The Sunday Times reports that the National Competitiveness Council is set to publish a damning report in the coming weeks about the duplication of broadband infrastructure in Ireland. According to the paper, the report will urge the government to address the fact that while multiple bodies have all laid down broadband infrastructure, broadband provision in Ireland remains insufficient. The report is expected to urge the government to ensure that spots of infrastructure are interlinked to create a proper network, rather than disconnected islands of connectivity.
    In other news...
The paper also reports that two firms have been shortlisted for the EUR11 million advertising contract for Eircom. The shortlisted firms are MindShare (part of the WPP Group) and MCM, the media-buying division of McConnells, which has also been shortlisted for the EUR4.5 million contract to publicise electronic voting before next June's elections.
Have to see who else these ones do business with, so I can add them to my lists...
