A friend of mine tried to order Netsource RADSL a few minutes ago and was told Netsourse dont do home users any more.

Anyone know if thats true & does it effect people already on Netsource?

They stopped taking home customers a while back. There was a thread about it either here or on the Ireland Offline forums. I don't think they could take the slating they were getting for limiting downstream on a bunch of people's connections.

This doesn't affect people who are already on Netsource as far as I know.

Well I've heard nothing so I assume I'm still fine. I'm still not a disgruntled customer either - I feel so abnormal :)

It'll probably get worse later :)
Downloads seem perfect. I don't play games anymore so netsource does the job perfect for me.

Its getting worse already m8:D .5 weeks till I finally finish with Netsource for good but there has being no improvement in online gaming pings. Even though an email I got from a Netsource employee claiming Vast improvements in gaming pings never happpened. Come to think of it Monday week ago i nearly threw the router out the window Netsource was so poor ie. I had a dial-up service that evening. No broadband for a few weeks the downside but looking forward to a reliable service from IOL please god:p

Just say you have your own business and work from home. You'll have to take the Domina name for €10 a months though

The now require a Company Number when registering. A friend of mine tried to register it for working from home but his company isn't registered yet so he didn't have a company number for them.

They allow multiple accounts but need a different company number for each I think I heard. I'd assume they'd bill the company's registered office too so no just plucking a random company number!! :p

I had intended getting Netsource DSL but with this ridiculous domain reg fee (almost twice the cheapest rate I've seen) I'm thinking twice on it. They still seem to be selling SOHO though-though not to private individuals obvisouly.

Don't play games online so I haven't been monitoring them much. Good enough for my SSH sessions though :)

It's been pretty good for the last few weeks for me, mind you I've not played any games in the last 4 days so you never know it could have gone crap again.

Netsource has been as bad as usual, started trying to play last night and was getting 250+ all the time.

Got an e-mail from thier support last week (nearly died of shock!) stating that they will be upgrading routers this week. I guess the :blameitoneircom: excuse has been run into the ground, now its back to blaming the routers.

Lets see this evening if the tides have turned for Netsource and online gaming.;)

This must be the hundreth router 'upgrade' I wouldn't hold my breath.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,427 ✭✭✭ando

I dunno what 'upgrading the router' means? Upgrading the firmware... changing the routing table? ..... changing the whole physical router units?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,780 ✭✭✭JohnK

hmmm. dont know if its a result of the upgrades or not, but my pings to clarity.jolt.co.uk have been between 40 ~ 50ms all day - including just now while I'm downloading from another netsource user at aprox 12.7k/sec
