I wanted to upload a test applet for my mobile (only want I can slap it onto the phone until I get the datacable sorted).

I can upload the JAR ok but when I try to upload the JAD it tells me this file type is not allowed?

    Is that intentional? Just curious.

Renamed the Jad to .txt to upload it.

(basically the demo off the Vodafone SDK.

Is there a reason why it isn't? I posted in Admin but no reply?

I hearby call this thread the "Hobbes talk to himself" thread. :D

Come on, a mod moved the thread they could at least comment. :)

Extensions are considered on a case by case basis (endorsements don't help or hurt really). I read your original posts, but your second one seemed to suggest that you had solved your problem.

Well kind of but it didn't. :/

JAD is basically a text file. So I renamed to upload but then I found I couldn't rename it back to JAD again.

I tried downloading that to the phone but just comes in as Text (as expected).

    It should work now.

    Cheers but... :(
To do that job you have to add a new MIME type into
    your web server :

    text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad
    and then upload it.

If that is too much hassle don't bother. I'll see if I can do it elsewhere. :/
