    EA/Dice Community Update #35 - 7.11.03
So, with the release of the 1.5 patch what are you saying? Well, for one, you really, really like the M1 Garand. You're also extremely happy with the new Invasion of the Philippines map. As a heads-up, we may be tweaking the map slightly as we see how it plays. Keep posting your comments about the map at your favorite forum and be assured that we'll read them all. The major topic of conversation is the impact of cheats and hacks in the Battlefield 1942 community. Well, we hear you and we're moving forward with plans to address them. Stay tuned to the official site for more news.

    3) Scene files to make your life easier
    - Skinned Character
    - Weapon
    - Parachute
    - Tank Tread
    4) Advanced Tutorial - How to create destructible buildings
    5) Damage System Tutorial - How to edit the Battlefield 1942 damage system

Venture over to the MDT website for these updates.

    Other Battlefield 1942 Community News

    Disaster Strikes CEBF.ws
As many of the old-school Battlefield players are aware, the CEBF (Codename Eagle/Battlefield) community is possibly the oldest Battlefield site/forum. They are rabid CE fans (are there any other types?)...and have become rabid Battlefield fans (Well, Digger, you're getting your friggin' grapple hook in Battlefield Vietnam, happy now :-) However, their site was struck by disaster and is no longer up. So, until they get sorted out, you won't be able to read/post at their forum. We'll report as soon as their new site is up and running again. Good luck guys!

Comical Weapons the "other" face of Battlefield
If you're a Battlefield fan and you haven't heard of Comical Weapons then you spend too much time in-game :-). General Chaos has been entertaining the Battlefield community with his send-ups of Battlefield for months now. When you get a moment, head on over to Battlefield Nation and have a gander.

    Desert Combat .5
Oh, boy. If Basrah's Edge had you hooked....Basrah Nights is gonna land you. Kudos to the DC team for pushing the Battlefield boundaries! These guys definitely think out of the box. Visit the Desert Combat website for the skinny.

EAComMike and the rest of the Battlefield team
    From Battlefield1942.com (Official BF1942 site)

Id advise giving the Mod Development Tools site a look if you are in anyway interested in modding etc. for Battlefield. If your looking for the most updated version of the Mod Development Toolkit I have a mirror below. The MDT site has some interesting information on how to create a AI code in Battlefield 1942 [as mentioned above] and tutorials and examples of how to create destructable buildings etc. Looks like Dice are giving the BF Modding Community a lot more now. :) Its also nice to see DC .5 get a mention in the EA/Dice Community updates.
