    Dragonforce are far and away the best power metal act to emerge in the past few years. They're lightening quick but always melodic at the same time. The level of virtuosity they possess is one thing, but the fact their ear for songwriting matches it is what sets them apart from other similar technically gifted bands. When I first heard Valley Of The Damned I was absolutely blown away. One of the most powerful, uplifting and technical albums of the noughties. It just fills you with energy. Personally, it's my album of choice for the gym more often than not. Sonic Firestorm is almost as good too!

    The other thing of course is that the gig is a paltry 18 quid. Bargain basement stuff, particularly seeing as Temple Bar is such an intimate venue and the atmosphere should be electric.

    Anyone else going?
