Looks somewhat similar to the Powerpoint DVD player, which also had 5.1 decoder. I have a Powerpoint from last year, and it's still going fine, though I have seen quite a few recent ones being returned with failed power supplies.

Besides, they're not that cheap when ya consider Sony JVC, etc have their DVD players at €149 though these are not multiregion.,
