    I recently got some videos that are *.rm. I don't have real player installed and when I went to the website, they wanted my credit card details even for a free trial. I'm refusing to do this so could anyone suggest an alternative player for .rm files, or would anyone have an older version of real player that they could make available.

    yeah I remember stupidly giving my credit card details for a 10 day trial of big brother around 2 yrs ago with real player... They charge you automatically if you do not cancel the deal after the 10th day, but I remember finding it very difficult to get hold of a phone number to cancel the direct debit from happening. I learnt my lesson that day!

    I noticed that the link was to cheappornomusic.com and i though "I just have to have a look at that, there might even be samples", but when I entered the URL I got "403 Access Forbidden" .......pity

    OOps, I never even noticed the URL when I downloaded the player. Now my machine feels dirty and used...

    Hehe.

    Anyhoo, if you do want the real thing (no pun intended), it is available for free from their site. They are really good at hiding the link though, and move it around the whole time. Go to this page and the link is pretty obvious on the right. No credit card required.

    Plus if you have any IOL cds laying around (or see any in any shops) get one, it has RealPlayer 8, which will save you having to download it.
