The closest i can think of is:

Hugo Weaving - Lotr & The Matrix

    or

Mel Gibson - Lethal Weapon Series and Mad Max Series

That's all I can think of!
Don't know of any actor in 3 Trilogies.

    got it.

    you wanna know?

    Harrison Ford.

    Star Wars

    Indiana Jones

An as JAck Ryan in Patriot Games, CLear & Present Danger, and the other one (can't remember). might have been red october, but I think it was Alec Baldwin as the character back then. maybe though. he's definately the closest so far though.

Sly Stallone perhaps - Rambo and Rocky. Although does it count as a trilogy if more sequels are made afterwards or does it have to be 3 movies, Alien was a trilogy but then the 4th got made so is it still a trilogy but with another sequel made. Can't think of a third "series" of movies Sly has been in.

Ian Mckellen has been in LOTR and soon will be in X-Men3. Has he been in another trilogy.

Harrison Ford - Star Wars (Original Trilogy) and Indiana Jones. Once again, can't think of a third.

ian mckellan did a bunch of different shakesphere stuff if that counts. probably not. same writer (obviously) but different characters.

Sig Weaver in the Alien Trilogy

M j Fox in Back to the Future

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,640 ✭✭✭Gillie

OK so Harrison is the closest so far.

Youv'e also got Micheal J fox as a close second:
    Back to the future Trilogy
    Stuart Little 1 & 2 (voice)
    Homeward Bound 1 & 2 (voice)

Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierse Brosnan have all been in at least 3 Bond Movies
Doug Bradley in the first 3 Hellraiser films
i'm sure other horror icons have been played by the same actor, such as Jason, Michael Myers
any of the new star wars films would have the same actors such as Ewen McGregor and Natalie Portman

    Dr. Dolittle 1 & 2
    Shrek 1 & 2

    As is Emilio Estevez:

    2 of the 4 movies.

HUnt For Red October was the first. Jack was played by Alec Baldwin.

Harrison did Patriot Games and Clear & Present Danger,.

Benny Boy did the newest one.

soneone at work here mentioned Lassie. not sure if Lassie counts as an actor though (or actress).

It's only a matter of time before Bruce Campbell will...

    The Evil Dead
    Evil Dead II
    Army of Darkness

    Spiderman
    Spiderman II
    Spiderman III??
Sam Raimi has said he will always find cameo roles for Campbell so if he completes the trilogy then so will Bruce.

    And finally a dodgy trilogy...
    The Hudsucker Proxy
    Fargo
    Intolerable Cruelty

A trilogy of Cohen brothers movies! :D

    bruce was in spiderman?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 815 ✭✭✭Bannor

He was the announcer in the wrestling ring. Peter Parker wanted to be announced as "The Human Spider" and the announcer decided the name sucked so he announced him as "Spiderman".

    Bruce Campbell named Spiderman

What about Christopher Lee in the LOTR trilogy and also in the Star Wars series

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,706 ✭✭✭Bacchus

Christopher Lee is only in Episode 2 and 3. He wasn't in the first one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,982 ✭✭✭ObeyGiant

I have one, but you're not going to like it...
    Christopher Lee.
    He was in:
    * Three Lord of the rings Movies
    * Three Musketeers / Four Musketeers / Return of the Musketeers
    * (Face of / Blood of / Brides of) Fu Manchu

    What's my prize?

  • Registered Users Posts: 547 ✭✭✭Devious

Some sad news there on Chris Lee im afraid. From what iv been reading it looks like ALL his scenes have been axed from the theatrical version of ROTK. They will be there for the DVD of course but still..... a damn shame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,472 ✭✭✭echomadman

Yeah I said Christopher Lee in IRC earlier, but I couldn't think of the names of the older films.

how could they do that? for anyone too lazy to have read the book
he's an integral part of the end of the story! missing tom bombadil out of the first one is one thing, but they can't tell the story with saruman missing from the end.

Don't forget the Dracula movies too...
There were more than three of those though..... I think.

assuming we get a third x-men, patrick stewart will have been in three of those and a load of star trek films too.
also cheech marin, three cheech + chong movies and three spy-kids movies (lame).
harrison was also in american graffiti and more american graffiti (uncredited according to imdb).
can't find any that fulfill all the criteria though

He's in the full Jack Ryan Trilogy (Red October, Patriot Games & Clear and Present Danger) as Admiral Greer and of course star wars as everyones favourite bucket head.

Only 2 Lion Kings though :(

    Arnie is in 2 trilogy's but i'm missing a 3rd

    Terminator 1+2+3

But does terminator count seeing he was a different terminator each time...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

well arnie has 2 9 checked for more to no avail

    Jackie chan is the closest:

    Police story 1+2+3+4
rush hour 1+2 +3 which is in production
    Armour of god 1+2

we are short 1 movie DAMN!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,552 ✭✭✭✭GuanYin

Well, if you're getting picky about him playing a different Terminator in each one, then you should probably discount Red Sonja too, since he wasn't playing Conan then. Just a random barbarian.

"Winners & Sinners" and its sequels: "My Lucky Stars" + "Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Stars"

So far I see only one actor who is in three definite 'trilogies' as opposed to someone who's in a chain of flics like police academy or something.

Therefore, only actor to who qualifies as being in three trilogies so far (as stated earlier):

    Christopher Lee

(LOTR, Star Wars 4,5,6 & Three Musketeers Tril)

He wasn't in three of the Star Wars films. If he makes a return in Episode III, he'll have been in 2.

The other 'trilogy' for Christopher Lee was the Fu Manchu films.

    Eh no, not remotely as:
    1) Not in Return of the King
    and
    2) Not in Star Wars 4 (which I assume you meant as Episode I - "The Phantom Meance"). He's only in Episodes II & III.

He is in return of the King. Just not the version that'll be played in the cinema.

Hunt for the Red October starred Alex Baldwin as Jack Ryan.

Jack Ryan is more like James Bond, as there are more in the series then 3. Only 3 movies have been made.

Mark Hamill Star Wars most actors from Star Wars.

Micheal J Fox Back to the Future
Christopher Lloyd Back to the Future

    Aronld Swekjfaskldj T1,2,3

Was Norman Bates (Forgotten actors name) in the Thrid Pshyco?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16 Pmc

How about James Earl Jones. He's close:

    The Hunt for Red October
    Patriot Games
    Clear and Present Danger
He plays Adm James Greer in these three.

He does the voice for Darth Vader in the first three Star Wars.

He does the voice for Musfasa in the two Lion King movies.

    That's if voice credits count.....

Doh! Sry bout that, was sure he was in Episode I for some reason.

As far as I'm concerned he can however be considered to be in ROTK as he will be appear on the full version of the film (DVD release).

    Mike Myers - nearly.
    Austin Powers 1-3
    Shrek 1&2
    Waynes World 1&2

Also - the only director to do 2 completely seperate trilogies (correct me if I'm wrong here dudes) Roberto Rodruigez:

    El Mariachi
    Desperado
Once upon a time in mexico

    And (believe it or not)
    Spy kids 1, 2 and 3D

Also - antonio banderas starred in all of these (except el mariachi)

    Another - Bruce willis
    Die hard 1-3
Look who's talking (voice 1-3?? - definitely in 1 anyway)

    And - John Travolta (nearly)
Saturday night fever and staying alive
    Look who's talking trilogy

    Heh?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 427 ✭✭Dewey

    Will Smith nearly aswell:

Bad Boys 1 & 2. (with a reported third 1 on the way)
Men In Black 1 & 2 (with a reported third 1 on the way)

    AHH..this is bugging me now!
