java string search

Hi , I am trying to make a simple class for a program, the problem I am having is that i dont know how to search the file i take in from io stream for a specific piece of text. i am used to c++ where there is a string.search() function, is there anything similar in java? thanks a million

hi,

I have never seen string.search() in STL C++, there is find(). In java You may try to use String.indexOf(String) when You have String from file, or trying to find string during file reading from BufferedReader in while loop.
