find a server that has external access and run a proxy on it and connect to the proxy.
otherwise look up on the web about tunneling via emails haha

proxy is the only way to get through a firewall.

You could try running fping from a machine outside your firewall and get it to ping the numbers xxx.xxx.0.0 xxx.xxx.255.255 where xxx.xxx are the first 2 numbers of your colleges ip addresses.
That will take fping only an hour or so (deadly program). Any ips that respond to the ping request are (likely) outside the firewall, and are in use. However if you see results like 69.30 69.31 69.33 69.34, you can guess that xxx.xxx.69.32 is also outside the firewall but is not in use.
So use the ip. Change your pc to that ip address and set the gateway to xxx.xxx.69.1 (if you cannt find it yourself, .1 is a good guess). Reboot your pc, and you should now be outside the firewall. Taadaaa

    What you could do is....
run fping on a machine outside your firewall, get it to ping numbers from xxx.xxx.0.0 to xxx.xxx.255.255 (where xxx.xxx are the two first numbers in your college ip address.). Log the output to a text file. It'll take about 2 hours of so to do 65k numbers.
Any ip that responds to the ping request is (almost certainly) outside the firewall. So look for obvious gaps in the ips. ie if 69.30 69.31 and 69.33 reply to ping requests, likely xxx.xxx.69.32 is also outside the firewall but is not up. This may be tempoary or the machine may well be gone. Then yoink, take the ip for yourself.
Setup your pc to use that ip, and set the gateway to xxx.1 (likely ip for your gateway, if you cannt find it yourself (try tracert)). reboot and you're now outside the firewall <taadaa>
Sounds long winded, but its amazing how fast you can get it down to

Well fping is a handy linux program, but i'm sure there are similar programs for all os's. Try ftp.cdrom.com, and run it on some linux box shell account or a mates shell account or someones account smile.gif
To change your ip use network config under win 9*, if useing nt you need either admin password or the admin to have been nice enough to give you access to network settings (unlikely)

    Answer his question!
How does fping find out that a given IP is unfirewalled?
    I remember doing it manually........

if you do the above you will only find out the ip's that are reachable from outside the college, in most cases the firewall allows access one way only (e.g. incoming connections) so changing your ip to them wont alow you to get outside access.
for instance dcu has about 20 servers that are connectable to from outside college,
but only 5 of these have outside access from inside college.
    wow i'm a confusing *******.
