not sure if this is the right place for this thread. move if u want...

im doing an industrial work experience program commencing feburary for 6 months. i am going to germany to do it. no one in my college (nui maynooth) is sure if i am eligable for a grant or if i am where i would get it from.

has anyone done this sort of thing before and if so, was there a grant involved?

Erasmus is for studying abroad, not working and you only get about 600 euros as it's only to cover your travelling expenses.

Try enquiring at FÁS or pester the admin staff who deal with exchanges etc at your uni more - they really should make more of an effort to help you!

Also try asking the Students Union Education officer or Welfare officer for information

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
