eircom connection indictator problem...

ive recently installed eircom as the isp on a fresh installation of XP. However when connection the little connection symbol in the system tray doesnt appear like it usually does... in other words when im connected to the net through eircom.... but dont have any IE windows open, theres no indication that the PC is…

in other words when im connected to the net through eircom.... but dont have any IE windows open, theres no indication that the PC is online... (apart from doin a ctrl+alt+del and goin to the networking tab)

anyone any ideas how to fix?

Have you tried?

opening control panel
selecting network connections
right click the offending connection and select properties
"Show icon in notification area when connected" - is checked - its on the general (should be default) tab at the bottom?
