Text off screen - why? Widescreen?

    I've noticed that the text on most channels is now slight offscreen on the edges on a normal 4:3 TV. I assume that this is because they are now broadcasting the signal for widescreen TV's. Is it?

    By any chance do you have ntl analogue?
