    The Magdalene Sisters.

OMG!! This is a shocking film. The evil of those nuns and it is a fact-based drama. It made me cry at the end. And I don't do crying at films. I think it one a few awards too. It wouldn't be a film that I'd want to watch again though. Quite shocking is the fact that the last of the laundries didn't close till 1996!

Yes it had the same effect on me as 'Boys Don't Cry'....A sick feeling inside.

oh, yes, Ashton Kutcher was a bit of a surprise in that!!

Yeah I was brought 'kicking and screaming' (almost) to that movie. I enjoyed it and don't have a clue about American Football. Billy Bob is such a good actor. And Tim Mc Graw was pretty good too. Didn't know it was him til the credits!!

    Episode 1 & 2 last night

    Then I will watch 3 & 4
    and then 5 & 6

I just think it would be interesting to see them all as they're intended, one after the other. Would be hard to do all in one sitting, don't have that kind of time, so split it into sessions of 2 each.

I watched Episode IV last night. First time I've actually sat down to watch it in years. The plot is a lot simpler than I remember. I'm going to make a point of watching the next two next week..

Hard Boiled. Way over the top Hong Kong action movie which was fantastic fun to watch even with all the countless errors (Beretta's with 500 bullets) and plot problems, for action junkies this is def worth a watch. By the way imdb now asks for registration to view the comments and I don't want to can anyone recommend a web site like imdb with message forums that you can view without reging?

    Lucas Belvaux's Trilogie

Three films taking place simultaneously, sharing characters and locations. Really enjoyable, unusual and a must for anyone interested in making films!

    Yesterday:

Game Over: Kasparov and the Machine - Not bad. Overly paranoid and conspiratorial though.

The new Star Wars - Can't understand all the rave reviews this is getting. Because they wave light sabers about the place, people pay no heed to acting and dialogue and common sense. I thought it looked good but was idiotic and brainless. E.g. Anakin with the premonition of death for your one has at least 2 options. 1 - Seek medical help and prevent this death. 2 - become evil and kill all his friends and colleagues to prevent this death. Guess which one he takes?

    Previous bunch of days:

Underworld - had some potential. Pretty average though.

Dead Meat - The Irish zombie film from last year. I was actually looking forward to watching this. A fair bit worse than I expected. The only good thing about it was the coach with the hurley.

Some Kind of Wonderful - Pretty typical of alot of movies in this genre from the 80's. I have a soft spot for this one though as I had a big crush on Mary Stuart Masterson when it first came out.

The Enemy Below - Pretty good WW2 sub v warship film. Obviously not up to Das Boot's standards but then it was made more than 20 years before it. And it's got Robert Mitchum.

Pump up the Volume - Another film I liked as a tennager. Still stacks up reasonably well in my opinion.

Journey to the Center of the Earth - I have always liked this movie.

Runaway Train - You wouldn't have thought this was from an original script/idea of Akira Kurosawa. Has a few ok moments but mostly it's overacted and a little boring.

Mighty Aphrodite - I'm a big fan of Woody Allens. This I think falls somewhere in the middle of his films. I haven't made up my mind about it yet. It's hard watching an old man kiss a young woman though. I have about 5/6 more of his films lined up to watch in the next week or so. He's nearly as hard as Takashi Miike to see all of his work.

Ghostbusters 2 - I'll watch anything with Bill Murray in it. It's been a fair while since I've seen this though and I think it'll be a fair while till I see it again.

I think I'll stop there, that's enough of a glimpse into how many films I see.

    Yesterday:
    The Incredibles
Not sure why i had not gotten around to seeing this movie but i was really really impressed with the visuals.

    Today:
    Bram Stokers Dracula
    LOL at Keanu Reeves' accent!

    Right now:
    Stargate
I remember seeing this movie in the pictures. It is not bad!

Married to the Mob - with Michelle Pffiefer(?). Obviously the prequel to her Catwoman character. The make-up and hair on her was scary!!

    LOL!

I have watched a ton of movies this weekend... here is the list (not in order):
    - Stargate
    - Paycheck
    - Terminator 2: Judgement Day
    - Bram Stokers Dracula
    - The Bourne Supremacy
    - Shrek 2
    - The Incredibles

    Madness I say!

Last film I watched was 'Mallrats', again. Just bought the new dvd and it has a nice few extras on it. A vastly under-rated Kevin Smith film in my opinion.

When I finally stop working and take some time off I have to attack a growing stack of dvds that includes...

    Shrek 2
    Demetia 13
    Little Shop of Horrors (original)
    Meat is Meat
    Carniaval of souls
    Hunchback of Notre Dame
Once upon a time in America
    Frankenstein
    Bride of Frankenstein...

    and that's only a handful

    I <3 Huckabees, enjoyed it.

Day before that, Lemony Snickets. Good-ish, but not as good as some of the reviews claimed. Great family film, but meh for me. Night of the Living Dead (remake) again, on Sky Movies.

Day before that... Ocean's Twelve. I'm not going to post anything about this film because just thinking about how awful it is makes me angry again. Seriously, avoid it.

Watched Oceans 12 last night. No where near as good as the first. Some funny lines but not as slick as the first.

I watched Castaway as it was on BBC1. It's a good flick, there's a fabulous sene where Chuck is drifting on the raft in the middle of the night and suddenly this gigantic whale surfaces beside him and observes him with a huge eye. It's a breathtaking scene! Tom hanks did well to carry that whole movie almost single-handedly.

A Clockwork Orange. Not fantastic but still good fun, a bit tacky in some of the scenes but still a very enjoyable watch.

Drunken Master 2. Overall a very enjoyable HK movie and in my personal opinion better then the over rated Ong Bak - in every way, except the acting which was just as dire. Still this was funny which makes it better :D

    Hero starring Jet Li.
Good story. Cinematography and exterior locations were excellent.

A Lot Like Love - not great, in fact not good. Kutcher was good in the Butterfly Effect but he seems to be going more for these roles.

Boogeyman - I tend to like these films no matter how bad they are but this film just was p1ss poor. No original ideas, no acting, no direction, no good.

Une Liaison Pornographique, drama about a couple who meet once a week to indulge in their desires. Eventually they decide to make love in the traditional way (whatever that is) and the relationship takes a turn.

Moving, realistic and a little bit depressing...
