Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Madagascar

Have to say I wasn't to excited going into watch this being a kids film and all, but to my surprise it was a fantastic film. Some great laughs in it and humorous references to other similar films made in the past. Deffo recommend it

Mr and Mrs Smith - Dumb but enjoyable
Mimic 2 - crap effects, poor acting, but for some reason I loved it - great B-movie type feel to it
Dark Waters - B Movie cack with Lorenzo Lomas, mildly watchable
Friday the 13th - Good old fashioned 80's gory fun

Can're remember exactly what else I watched over last two days...

Once Upon A Time In America. Huge film (nearly 4 hours long) with a fantastic story and cast of characters, don't think that 4 hours is too long it's actually never dull and it does keep you interested the full 4 hours. It's not perfect but it's still an excellent film.

I watched Garden State and it is one of the best films I have seen so far this year. The soundtrack to the movie is also really good.

Goodbye Lenin. Touching and funny film. Some great images, the statue of Lenin carried by the crane, the unveiling of the coca cola logo, the made up reports of refugees fleeing capitalism.

Batman Begins. At last the Schumacher films are just a bad memory. Very different from the Burton films, very contemporary and excellent cast. Nice explanation at the end as to why Gotham City seems to be populated by masked crazies and various grotesques...

citizen kane - beathtaking!!! just fantastic

the jacket - i was pleasantly surprised with this, because i had heard quite a few bad things about it. it reminded me a little of the book the time-travellers wife which i love

millions - kinda silly and forgettable but still a good kids film, Boyle is a great director

batman begins - pretty alright, christian bale worked as did Murphy & Neeson, didnt like katie holmes too much though, was dissapointed by Gary Oldman's & Ken Watanabe small parts though

Bowling for columbine, very much enjoyed it especially after farenheit 9/11 and both against my expectations!

Was worth it for the jaw dropping (to me anyway!!) very first scene involving opening the bank account...sorry dont know how to do spoilers but anyone who's seen it will know the one!

    Creep
    Dawn of the Dead (original)
    Sideways

    - now I only watched 1 n a half hours of this (sideways) and I was a liil bit toastie. But I think I completely lost of the point of the film. I dont think I laughed once! Maybe all the humour is in the last 45mins? Anyone seen it and loved it?

Last night I had the "pleasure" of watching the god awful War of the Worlds.
I am so happy I didnt pay good money to see it and got a ticket to the preview screening.
The only way to describe it is that it's not Independance day.

Christ... can't be any worse than that Independence Day sh*te?

I've heard from a couple of people who went to the advanced previews that it's actually quite good so i'm holding judgement until i see it!

And looking forward to it, i am!

Last night and during it I watched Ladder 49 and Assault on precinct 13.

I enjoyed ladder 49, thought is was a solid film with a few surprises in it.
AoP13 was ok, nothing special though.

Just saw Heavenly Creatures for only the second time...
F**k me, I'd forgotten how amazingly brilliant it is. So dark and chilling, and it's so compelling. The acting from Lynsky and Winslet is fantastic, and it's so well-shot. It's such an intense film, their performances needed to be spot on.

    Excellent.
