What a classic Pesci and De Niro are better than they are in goodfellas.
Is the deluxe version worth buying if you have the normal copy?

I watched Twelve Monkeys (amazingly, for the first time) last night.

im a sucker for the fancy packaging. the commentary from Scorsese has its moments and one or two of the deleted scenes add a little to the film. There is a nice feature on the gangsters in vegas. never had the original so its hard to say if its totally worth it. The film is defo an essential buy.

    what a classic

Me too. When Constantine came out I was looking at the two versions on the shelf, paid almost a tenner more for the cardboard box-two disk one....haven't watched half of the extra stuff.

Wedding Crashers: Funniest film I've seen in ages. Although he's only in it near the end, Will Ferrell maintains his legend (in my eyes) status, and then some! The entire cast was great IMO.

Thought i saw bits of it before but couldnt remeber much so its been on my to watch list for ages:

One flew over the cukoos nest

I wouldnt have appreciated it when I was younger but this is one of the best films ever. Its kinda slow moving so you dont feel much for the first half of the film but thats only so you identify more with them. This is a BRILLIANT film. If you havent seen it you MUST watch it NOW. This film is so fantastic on so many levels that telling you why it is brilliant might ruin some of it for you. You have to see this film. I cant stress that enough.

I said this is a spoiler, if you havent seen this film stop reading!!

Girl, Interrupted. I really enjoyed it, Angelina Jolie deserved the oscar for supporting actress, she's such a psycho in it. Also thought Winona Ryder and Brittany Murphy were good. Odd story but an entertaining enough watch

    The Incredibles

Wow - fantastic! Have loaned a projector from college to complete the entire home cinema experience and its fantastic :D

Will pixar exceed this? I certainly hope so and if so cant wait to see it!

Watched all three of these today:

How High - disappointing black comedy, I was only looking for a time killer and for that it did the job. Was alright, but definitely day time viewing

No Good Deed aka The House on Turk Street
Despite what others say about this film Samuel can do no wrong as far as Im concerned and good acting and an intriguing plot (I prefer ones with lose ends) made all it very enjoyable. Not sure if I had a poor quality copy, but I thought the directing was weak.

    The Blues Brothers.
1980 film, you mightened get it if you dont like the music, but the film is ground shatteringly brilliant. Sublimely simple and a beauty of its own. You might be thinking whats so special about these guys, as a film I suppose not much, but these are some real life super stars when it comes to music. The plot is ridiculous, but the nonchalant attitude and the simple suits --- this film would be nothing without the fantastic directing. Brilliant film.

Big Trouble in Little China - Manliest movie ever made. Such a fast paced cheesy action comedy that it doesn't give you time to think just how utterly ridiculous it is. Not sure if it was intentionally made to be so funny but good god it is. Probably good to watch with a few lads and a few cans/joints in you.

    Last night, I watched Sleepless.

    The Incredibles

Excellent movie, so funny, bit like the Simpsons meets the Fantastic 4.
All star cast for the voices just really makes it an enjoyable movie.

Also saw The Descent recently, cracker of a thriller, made me jump in my seat several times!
The trailer for this movie is doesn't do it justice, it makes you want to watch the movie alright, but only gives you a minute inkling of the real plot!!!!
    Classic in my books!

    The Fantastic Four.

If it wasn't for Jessica Alba (:D), this film would have had no redeeming features whatsoever.

Tonight, Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgandy and Nausicaa Of The Valley Of Wind.

Anchorman is always stupid fun, and Nausicaa is just a breath-taking epic.

Yep... was leaked at the weekend!

Didn't really enjoy it that much though except for the
    Stewie and Brian drunk scenes
    and the
    hilarious Ferris Bueller parody
    !
"Quagmire... there's an 'O' in country!"

Indeed, but could you imagine if they tried to get that made today?

Speaking of Christian Slater though, tonight I watched Alone In The Dark... That was just bad. It wasn't even the unintentionally funny that made House Of The Dead such a laugh, it was just outright bad. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,258 ✭✭✭✭Rabies

    Hitch

Didn't think much of it at all. One or two good scenes but thats it.

i watched Madagascar what a waste of 5 euros (bray cineplex) and some stupid kid questioning the the pengiuns motives then laughing at the lion dancing ugh!

but hey the movie sucked ben stillar was a bad choice for the lion and same with the big hippo .. the giraffe and the zebra were class though

Charlie and the chocolate factory - I thought that it was a very good film, it grated a bit at times but the overall feeling after having left the movie was good, it was certainly escapism, the squirells have to be seen to be believed and there were some great funny moments.
