Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Watched 'Sin City' with the girlfriend.. saw the film a load of times but first time the girlfriend saw it - don't think she enjoyed it too much!

I watched The new Family Guy film (if you want to call it that). I thought it was garbage. I recently watched the 3rd series of FG and it wasn't as bad as I thought (very hit and miss but most episodes were okay). This new film is tripe though. The film has no structure, very cheap and stupid usage of the word f*ck but worst of all, the main charachter is Stewie. They should have had Peter as the main charachter (he's the only member of the family I like). Admittedly there are a couple of funny moments in the film, but overall I think it will dissapoint FG fans.

Watched Zoolander (again :) ), Ice Age and Collateral yesterday. Sunday was a fun day :D
Zoolander - funniest movie of all time, every time you watch it you find new jokes. Brilliant stuff
Ice Age - Pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a kids movie. Very funny in parts.
Collateral - One of my favourite movies of 2004. Cruise and Foxx are excellent

Assault on Precinct 13. This was the 2005 version and I've got to admit that it's not that bad at all - I though it was a good fun action movie and there was nothing that really annoyed me about the film. It's a good action popcorn movie.

I watched Oceans Twelve. Was really enjoying it until that unbelievably stupid part in the plot involving Julia Roberts character playing a certain famous actress. It ruined the film entirely for me. The ending was far too confusing also.

Barton Fink. Downright weird! The film is full of symbolism and is very quirky with a few laughs in it but it's not an easy popcorn movie that's for sure. Weird but entertaining.

Animal House. The daddy of all those modern teen comedies. It's still all right for a laugh even today though it's not that laugh out loud anymore it's great to see all the ideas it introduced.

    Red Eye

surprising flick from Wes Craven, not any gore to be seen, well apart from the pen incident, good one!

He's great at the suspense, the house scenes were great, a good thriller!

I watched Field of Dreams with the g/f. She noticed it was on the tv a couple of days ago and missed it so she insisted we rented it out. I was expected a load of sentimental rubbish but it actually wasn’t that bad. Mildly entertaining but certainly don’t rush out to rent it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,954 ✭✭✭✭Larianne

Red Eye. Started out alright. But jaysus towards the end I was laughing when eh I don't think I was supposed to be. I just though cillian murphy's voice was just so funny. It was very much Wes Craven. The house scene reminded me of Scream.

Rachel McAdams was very good. Cillian Murphy? What was up with his accent?

Watched Coming To America the night before. It was gas. "Sol Glow" :D

The Matrix - been a while since I saw this last, but it's a damn fine action flick (despite the dodgy sequels); although it's interesting to see how subtly the "terrorist" angle of Neo & co. was played by the Agents compared to how it might have been treated in a post-Twin-Towers situation (compare it to Spielberg's "War Of the Worlds" for example, where the kids are pretty much convinced that anything bad must be the work of terrorists).
