best dvd writer?

Hi all,i am tempted by komplett special on the nec 1300 but wondered if it is any good?Was also looking into buying the lite onLDW811S instead which is a lot faster and can be bought right in ireland trade prices.Which would you recommend seeing as the liteon would be closer to €200 but burns at 8 speed.regds kmb:rolleyes:

The NEC isn't great in terms of compatibility with media especially cheaper media.

Pioneer A06 is good.

A06 for about 150 inc delivery.

Just received my Pioneer A06 from dabs.com for €150 all-in..
Three days delivery..
Now to find some reasonable media..

Did you have to stay at home to receive your DVD burner?
Was it delivered by Courier or post?
If you had not been at home, where could you have collected the drive from???

I ask this because I plan to buy the same burner from the same people.

It was courier delivered, so I'd suggest you do the same..
You can add a multitude of delivery addresses to your DABS account..

I got the LG 40-40b does everything and works with even cheap media

have it a few months and havent had any problems with it

look at www.dvd-recordable.org list of compatibility of disks for nec's burner good info there. nec 1300 it aint that bad as performance goes but flash it to 1.07 firmware. ritek work fine on it and are cheap
www.bigpockets.co.uk have a gd deal last wknd their 106 was selling for £80 some cheap media to. 4x is plenty fast as 8x media is crazy in price anyway 15mins at 4x aint that bad sorry for the mess of this post in the middle of getting stuff from komplett
