cleaning dvd roms

was wondering whats the best way of keeping your dvd rom clean and functioning on top form, just that i was playing a few movies and they were hanging on occasions? could it be my decoder (winDVD4) having said that i have recently installed win xp pro? Hertz

make sure your dvd drive is set to dma mode.

to check/do this click:
control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager -> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, make sure they're all set to "dma if avaliable"

the drives run faster then
