music format converter

ive got a few dat and wma songs on the harddrive, problem is my burner software 'nero' or 'create cd' wont burn them in that format. ive tried fiddling about with settings etc but to no avail. ive a stack of cd's that are useless now because of this. ive tried all the search engines etc.. and have got a few tools but none…

ive tried all the search engines etc.. and have got a few tools but none of them work or either you have to pay for them after being advertised as 'free'. i have one that converts 75% of each song to mp3 format then you have to pay to get the rest done.

anyone know any free software to convert files like dat and wma to mp3 files??

Getting the free wma plugin for nero (from www.nero.com under downloads) would probably solve the problem for the windows media files.

just rename the .dat files the .mp3

they'll work
