Christmas songs are the work of the devil. Obviously no-one here has done any hardcore retail work for the month of December at any stage.

Christmas songs are enough to drive me into a psychotic rage where I feel the bizarre need to stack shelves and be rude. That and now when any christmas song ends I start humming the next few bars of what was on after on the tape.

I hate christmas songs in fact I hate christmas but thats another story. If you want a different christmas song try Mistress for christmas by AC/DC

Well, I like Christmas but definitely agree with the choice of song :)

"I can hear you coming down my smoke stack
I wanna ride on your reindeer honey and ring the bells"

    Great stuff :D

Also, I think it's the theme of Gone Shootin's latest sig, go look!

Frosty the Snowman - The Cocteau Twins. I don't know how easy it is to get a hold of though.

I think some people here are taking the piss. So here's my five favourite (seriously) Christmas songs followed by my five LEAST favourite ones.

    Five Best Christmas songs

1 Merry Christmas War is Over John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band
2 Stille Nacht. (that's Silent Night in the original German for you monoglots)
3 River Joni Mitchell (memorably covered by Auto Da Fe for those who remember good local Irish rock bands of the 1980s)
4 Fairy Tale of New York The Pogues
    5 Merry Christmas Everybody Slade

Five worst crappiest most likely to need the sick bucket Christmas songs

1 Simply having a wonderful Christmas Time Paul McCartney
2 The Frog Chorus Paul McCartney
3 Pipes of Peace Paul McCartney (By God, there's a trend here)
4 Mistletoe and Wine Cliff Richard
5 Driving home for Christmas-Chris Rea/Merry Christmas everyone - Shakin Stevens /Jingle Bells.... There's so many that deserve a dishonourable mention.

Brenda Lee. Or Mel Smith and Kim Wilde if you're an 80s child

(checking emule (cough wink), I see it appears to have been covered by the Beatles, Alvin & the Chipmunks, Amy Grant, Elvis, Jessica Simpson and Green Day)

ugh, I HATE the mel and kim version of that song. shudder.

My favourite would have to be Fairytale of New York by the Pogues and Kirsty, without a doubt. Merry Xmas (war is Over) would come a close second.
