    hey all ,
just seen Irish-heavens site and am non 2 impressed with the content ,

Just know in the past for good reasons images like contained in it were deleted from boards in actual posts , do boards have any say in what is advertised in banners?

If we want a porno screensaver/background there is always google, but for the younger members who might not have thought of this its pretty musc in your face.

as people know alot of readers of boards are under 18 ,

assuming we are all 3 clicks away from porn/porn image , should boards be contributing to the same?

if i click on colour logo's , picture messages , screen savers and especially background images the content is not for under 18's

I may be a prude and forgive me if i am , but in fairness , i wouldnt like my kid browsing a forum and clicking on that banner,

not looking to cause war but am concerned enough to write this.........

just asking others thoughs and opinions
    Cheers

I've just taken a look myself and if you click Color Logos or Picture messages etc etc the first thing that you do see is porn.

They appear to have other choices in there too but the default thing that shows up is porn.

Very unsuitable for minors in my opinion.

I agree, but having said that, unsupervised interweb surfing by minors is going to involve for definite probably ( one of my favourite new phrases ) more worthwhile porn browsing from the minors point of view than clicking on the Irish Heaven links.

If you dont want your kid clicking on the link above then dont let him do so. I am not a parent, but if/when I do become one, I will have very strict internet monitoring in place until i feel they are mature enough to handle the "dodgey" content thats out there.

Monitoring your kids online should be mandatory for the concerned and informed parent.

Didn't notice anything the first time I looked at it few days ago coz all I was trying to look at was some few sim few phones they might have but all they were showing me was a dead link. Until last night I have a look in there again when everyone is talking about the contents in it here and I do feel it's really bad myself. Should have say that you must be over 18 to enter or some warnings etc. since there are porn even though not all but I guess it'll probably just make it even more minors to go in and have a look. Not a pleasant site.

Yep I agree. I was very surprised to see that the admins had taken advertising from this site even before I noticed the porn background piccies for mobiles.

I think it reflects badly on Boards.ie that advertising has been taken from a site like this.

TBH I thought the site was a bit tacky and didn't go beyond the first page but after clicking on the links nearly all of them point to phone porn.

I'm only 17 and my Mammy banned me from the PC for a week and whipped me with a belt because I looked at Irish-Heavens

I dont know if we should get into deciding the morality of our advertisers before advertising them. I see the point you are making but I also object to altering the experience of the internet for adults simply because some parents are too lazy to mind what their kids are doing online.

MLM, Porn, drugs, illegal stuff ... ok those are moral choices too I guess but in the end of the day they're pretty much base line for humanity (I mean, some/all of them are illegal!).

If Irish-Heaven are displaying anything illegal on their site, then there is a point to this... otherwise the kids can see worse on the top shelf of any Spar or Centra. We have laws about the publication of illegal material in public so if you feel they have broken them then you can take action that way....

Not sure of the legality etc of it but would they not be required to have a warning that there is adult content on the website and it is not be suitable for minors etc etc?

I would have thought that a site with that content would be required to do so.

...even more dodgy is the fact that the site is controlled from Ashbourne In Meath.

The Admin Contact if you enter irish-heaven.com is

    Darren Brooks

    dbrooks@f1newstoday.com

    10 Westfield Green
    Ashbourne
    Co Meath

    0877811868

A holding page warning of the perils behind the banner would be nice. /me reckons that ' Irish Heaven' conjures up images of bountiful porter beside a warm turf fire in the pub.

Not too pushed about the content but they should get an award for best use of MS paint for that banner.
