Setting up a BF1942 server.

Hi, quick question - I've set up a BF1942/EoD server on my home machine so that myself and a few friends can use it to practice on (flying helos, using teamspeak etc). The only problem is that while everyone else (externally) can see and connect to the server (and play games on it), I can't.

I'm using another machine on the same network as the game server, both sharing the same DSL connection through a gateway. I can't see the machine in the in-game server listings, and cannot connect to it if i try to connect using the IP/port of my gateway machine.

Any ideas on how to get round this?

    Cheers

imfairly clueless on this so dont take it as gospel, but,

sounds to me that your setting up a dedicated server, ie. a server that doesnt allow the host machine to connect to the game, doing this improves the overall proformance of the server.

not to sure about connecting from the other machine though. it might be because your sharing an ip with the server machine.

Yeah, i've got the one machine running the bf9142 dedicated server, another running the game, and a third acting as a Firewall/router/gateway.

Hmm, i'll look into the IP sharing thing - it's somewhere to start, cheers.
