    What is this Freeview ? can we buy and connect a Freeview Box to the aerial at home and will it work in Ireland? i hear you get loads of digital channels of it... any pointers would be much appreciated.. cheers

    Freeview is the Free To Air digital TV system in the UK and Northern Ireland run by the BBC and Sky.

    It is accessed by purchasing a Freeview Set Top Box that is then connected to the TV and normal aerial socket for roof aerials. The roof aerial may have to be changed to a new version able to receive digital transmissions.

    It can only received in Ireland if you happen to live in a part of the country that already receives spillover transmission, i.e. along the border and on the east cost.
