8x burners are already around but there is no sign of 8x media anywhere.
Thats an unbelievable price.

I think that burner migth be DVD+R/RW only.
DVD- is a lot more compatible with standalone dvd players etc.
At least that my experience anyway. I have burned dvds for people and while the DVD- almost always works with anyon elses dvd players but the + media are only about 50 50 from what i've done so far.

If you are going for a single format dvd recorder then go for the minus ones or better still get one that is compatible with both.
