Did anyone have black screen problems with the Voodoo2 DirectX 6.1 drivers when running Quake 3 Arena (Demo or Demo Test only)? I haven't been able to run Q3A yet because of this. I'm gonna try these DirectX 7 drivers.
The thing is there betas... which usually means trouble...

Q3 doesnt use directx..
it should have no bearing on the game whatsoever

Ok, the original message was about graphics drivers, but thats not entirely true.
Remember that DirectX includes:
DirectDraw
Direct3D
DirectSound
DirectInput
and so on...
I reccon if it's a Win32 app then it uses the DirectXCore for sound output, joysticks and stuff.
