Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Non Airport 802.11b PC Card for Mac

    Hi there,
I'm hoping someone can help me.
i have an elderly Mac Powerbook, (Bronze keyboard) running OS 9.1

The ethernet port at the back is broken. It is pre-USB. It is pre- Airport, and won't take even the early cards. I will soon be recieving a shiny new iMac, and want to move info out of the Powerbook and into it. I also want to use the powebook to connect to the internet through a wireless network.

I have a base station. But I need some way of connecting the powerbook to the wireless network. The only thing I can see is a PCMCIA card, as it has two slots for such things.

But does anyone know where I can get a card that will set up on the Mac? Or even what kind of card would be suitable, and I'll track it down myself.

Elara seemed stumped. But they said if I find one that would work, they'll get if for me. So my appeal is, does anyone know what card might be a runner.

    Thanks!

Just a thought - have you tried posting to any of the dedicated apple newsgroups or trying the support on apple's own site? Hard to belive that someone has not found a solution to this problem already.

I did a google search and found this http://www.jjeff.com/archive/000063.html might give you some ideas anyways - hope it works out for you.

for the google search I just tried 'old powerbook wireless connection'
