    Well, I was just reading what Hakeem said about q3 test...

    Last time I played DK it had the best potential of all three as a replacement to QW.

    Laugh if you will but why does everyone give Carmack the credit... romero was involved too and might learn from the lucky "bugs" that makes the game great...

    People who are unusually quiet are the ones with something to really shout about...

    John Romero is the king.

    He was the real brains behind Doom and Quake. He still my idol. I remember the first demo i ever watch - Dm2, Romero v's KillCreek. OMG, so classy! Anyone else remember that dem?

    Interesting thing is that Romero initially taught Carmack how to program.

    However, Carmack is light years ahead of him in coding skills now - I don't like Q3 as you all know, but I have a lot of respect for the incredible work in that graphics engine.

    Thing about Romero is that he is an idiot who has been living off one good idea (deathmatch) and hasn't had another innovative one since - and I say idiot because I know how he's been running his ship at Ion Storm, and it's so ego-centric it's unbelievable.

    The guy invented deathmatch, fair f***s to him for that, but since then, everyone else has been expanding on it with cool ideas (CTF, C&H/KotH/DOM, TF/AS, CA) and he has merely stagnated.

    IMHO, American McGee was a much greater loss to id...
