You will find 128mg very restrictive. Try and get 256mg at least. Take a look at http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/ as well as they are a great company and have a good website. I got the i-BEAD150 256MB which is excellent but is £159 sterling.

    Hi RicardFred,
I also purchased the ibead from advancedmp3s and I find it excellent.

One thing, I was intrigued to see the offering on Kompletts homepage

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?action=info&sku=119520&cks=FRO

I belileve its the same machine as the IBEAD!!!!

    What do you think??

I have ordered the Creative Labs Rhomba:

Try the following link, the company is based in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, go for the 256Mb one. Delivery is free and takes a day.

A friend purchased one the other day and is raving about it, plus, its a great price !

You are right. Just checked http://www.mp3players.co.uk/ and they say JENS (AKA i-Bead). kompletts price for the JENS is similar to that of AMP3P for the i-bead except they dont offer the free case etc.

magic star all the way rather than the muvo. Better sound, more reliable and a rechargeable battery. Cheaper too :)

i have a friend with a magic start 256mb and it's great. best of all it recharges it's lith-ion battery via the usb port while you have it plugged in for xferring music.

and it comes with mobile email and favourites so very handy if you are on the move all the time.

    Lads,
Is the only way you can recharge the rhomba via the usb?

Or is there a way of connecting a power supply to it?

    Thanks

I think there is a USB to wall outlet adapter available as an accessory for the Rhomba.
Contact Creative European Online Store for confirmation as it is not listed on Web site.

Also, I noticed that Power City are now selling Creative hardware so hopefully they'll start getting into Computer Hardware in a bigger way putting pressure on the other retailers and lowering prices.

    Hi,

I'm writing a letter to Santa to get me an mp3 player. ;-)

I'm looking for a player that has a radio.......

I'm in 2 heads as what to get.........a CD/MP3 player or just a pure mp3 player.

    Any ideas??

I'm leaning towards a sony CD/MP3 player with a radio...........but now I've seen on this thread that the creative rhomba is good but as far as I can make out you cannot stick any extra memory in it.

Any help on the above would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    spanner_head.

256MB is the largest version of the Rhomba available and it isn't expandable.

Powercity sell radio only walkman type devices for under €10 : )
I think I saw some cheap JWin CD\MP3 players in Powercity too (under €50 I think but not sure).
