It would be a great move for him and a better chance for him to get into the CL. He'd be like a God up there !

i think it will be a while before he would even think about going to celtic... however i think everyone knows that when ROY keanes contract runs out, a season at celtic might not be out of the question

the only keane i love to see at celtic is robbie... the man would become a legend...

roy is a old granny now... no need for him.

who needs an even older keane when u will hopefully still have liam miller?. Who needs robbie keane when larrson leaves ? CELTIC

He will probably go alright. All through his career he hasnt hung around one club for very long. I have no idea why, but i have an inkling that if he was a better player he may stay longer.

cant see spurs letting him go that easy..

he is a one man team for them these days!

Keane is playing some great football atm. So is Duff. It's great to see it. Pity they're not Man Utd men though.

He should stay at spurs imho. I know he would have more of a chance to play Champion League football with Celtic but apart from the opposition in Europe one couldnt really see the opposition in the scottish league giving him to hard of a time. Not trying to take anything away from the scottish league (well I am ) on a level of wanting to progress his game then he should stay put in the premiership be it with Spurs or whoever. As Dustaz said if he did stay with a club for longer than his usual spells then he will develop further.

Simple answer no he is top of the pecking order at tottenham

Good move for him if he went , he'd easily bang away 20 - 25 goals a season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,580 ✭✭✭uberwolf

good move? he wouldn't develop as much as he could playing better quality teams week in week out, not good for him or Ireland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,472 ✭✭✭Sposs

Thats what people have been saying about Larsson for years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,580 ✭✭✭uberwolf

has larsson developed? if he was that good he'd have been snapped up by a major club wiht more funds than celtic, fair enuff it would have taken a big bid, but we've seen it before.

He plays well in scotland. no debate. but the best players need to justify that tag by performing consistently on the biggest stage.

why? so fergie can brain wash them into picking club over country?

It wouldnt be a good move at all, in fact Robbie shouldnt even think about joining another team for at least two seasons after this one. He has done too much moving between clubs in his career, he needs to settle down and start banging in the goals. He is in a great position at spurs, he is playing for a mid table team against good opposition every week, and a team that has plenty of options up front so he has to keep pushing himself to merit being picked every week. He has to live up to his hype before he should consider anymore moves:)

I don’t think Keane is as good as Larsson, particularly in the air, but it would be a great move for Celtic.

He's scored goals for Sweden in the World Cup, and notched up plenty of goals for Celtic in Europe as well, not to mention to two in the UEFA cup final last year! He does perform on the big stage, when he gets the chance. When he leaves Celtic I'd like to see him play in Italy or Spain, I think he's set for a move home to Sweden though...

i think this argument is easily won by using roy keane as an example. i don't think that a young , not injury ridden, oshea would be much of a lose to united if he got injured away with ireland but keane is the heart and soul of united an injury to him would send united into dire straits.

why tell me to shut up, i may be wrong but would you be another know it all united fan??

    keane couldn't lace henrik's boots.

larsson cannot be replaced, any mention of a "replacement" and we will expect the same from the new player that comes in and quite simply they cant live up to the expectations set by henrik..

In my lifetime I have never seen a good a player grace parkhead like he did (im 21 and never seen the likes of daglish/jimmy johnstone etc in my lifetime) and if i were to be truly honest i can't see there being any one as good as him anytime soon at all.

has larsson developed? if he was that good he'd have been snapped up by a major club wiht more funds than celtic, fair enuff it would have taken a big bid, but we've seen it before.

henrik is a god on the east side of glasgow, his loyalty has also got respect from so many more people than you would imagine..

he has also performed on the world stage and at european stage and still puts in 110% effort every game and churns out performance after performance no matter the opposition.

Forgive me when i say this but i think your a muppet, either that or you have never watched henrik in his true capacity.

the sad thing is, going from tottenham to celtic would be a step backwards for Keane.

Keane is 32 years old, he has injury problems. Why should he play for Ireland? Keane asked his doctor and then he asked Alex Ferguson what he thought about him returning to the Ireland squad. Alex gave his opinion after that of the doctor, and Keane retired from the squad altogether. It was Roy Keane's decision to retire at 32. Ferguson was only a small influence on him retiring from the Ireland squad. You have been reading too many tabloid newspapers.

Shearer is retired from International football since he was 30? Luis Enrique 30? Tugay 32? I suppose their managers forced them to retire too.

one of the strongest arguments i have heard in years why did you even bother to post that??

PORNAPSTER: The reason for quitting Ireland was to prolong his career at united. by quitting international football, i no doubt believe that it will prolong his career and is playing some of his best football ever at the moment with united.

during the famous rte interview he said no-one wants to play for his country more then him. Why then does he not play for ireland. Alex Ferguson. Keane said himself that his decision about international football was being made in conjunction with ferguson. this is why i think that a move by rb keane and duff to united, could eventually screw us up.

i think he should play for ireland because he is a product of the fai equivalent of the school of excellence

I think will go to celtic because of the prospect of European football!

Yes, he probably wants to play for Ireland more than anyone but his hip problem which wasn't a problem at the time of that interview was one of the deciding moments in his international career. He didn't know of the seriousness of the hip injury until he had the operation.

Ferguson has nothing to do with his decisions, he has a small influence on them. Roy Keane said that himself in a DVD I have. Fergie would have no problem in letting Robbie and Duffer go on international duty. It is the exact same way with O'Shea.

Since we are talking about Roy AGAIN i would like to say a few words as a neutral.

Neither his injury or Alex Ferguson forced him out of international football, as he said he would love to play for Ireland. When he asked during the interview to go back to Saipan the players refused to let him back. Most of those players still play for Ireland and Keane has lost respect for them, how the hell do you expect him to play and get on with those players??? He was booted from Saipan by McCarthy because of a big disagreement and he doesn't feel he was wrong. Would you play with the same players that refused you the chance of captaining a team in the biggest tournament in the world? I don't think so.

Since I am not a United fan I have no reason to back him up but I think he has undeservedly lost the respect of most the Irish public for something that most of us would probably have done given the circumstances.

did he in the interview ask to be let back into the ireland squad. i don't think he did, but i may be wrong.

i think that both mick and roy were acting like fools in the situation. they should have got on with it. hell i hate my boss but i still get on with me job.
