anyone got any hints for Q2.6? Its the picture one where (I think) you have to match up the pictures until you're left with one remaining

and how come Q2.5 was easy and the rest are feckin hard!

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

You mean 2.7 lafortezza? 2.6 was where you had to add the same word to the beginning and end of another word - and it was quite easy. 2.7 has a load of pictures and - you've guessed it - I'm stuck on the same puzzle as you again :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

for 2.7 ( I think the one with the pictures titled you only need one of these...)

    hint
try writing out what you see in the pictures (doesn't matter if you don't know what some of them are, you'll notice something about the words, then follow the title of the puzzle

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

    Grrr I see the connection:
Double letters right? vacUUM, hiPPo, veNN diagram, armadiLLo, kangarOO, sEE-saw, haMMer, caRRot, buBBle, shEEp, boTTle, and some other thing. But I can't see what's after that...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

ok ixoy now all you have to do is follow the title of the puzzle and make the answer

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

Yeah, I assume I'm meant to
Get the double letters as single letters - namely now u,n,p,r,o,b,e,e,m,l,t,c and some other one I can't get - and make an anagram but... I can't see the anagram. Tells us if it's one word or two :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

yes ixoy, that's it, 1 word in the answer....

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

    Ah but is it
1 13-letter word or just a word with less letters? The anagram creator I use throws up thousands of words for the 12 of 13 letters that I have! What on earth is the picture of the three circles with lines in them?! Gah, hangovers aren't suited to the stupid fat donkey

I got the answer just from your letters above, you've just about spelt it out for yourself :p, just move the l forward a bit!

Q28: can somebody spoiler the answer or pm me the answer? Its the one with the cut up words/picture, I'm in work and can't print it out, thanks!

    hehe

    :(
    Q2.9 "It's all over.."
are there 2 words written, 1 in balck the other in the faded colour? or whats the trick to getting the answer?

    I hate being dumb

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

Yay! Lafortezza is with me again :D

I'm here too and I assume that:
There's letters super-imposed on top of each other. The last "letter" is I and T superimposed giving "IT". In some cases there's 3 letters - I make the second letter/word out to be "YOU". Ain't got them all yet and am sure there's another stage when I do

    The headphones in 2.3
Read the four pictures clockwise - head phone, phone bill, bill gates, gates head, head phone

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14 aliasflora

Ah!!!! I seeeeeeeeeeee ... thanks for that Dar! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 763 ✭✭✭Dar

Just stumbled on the answer for 2.5 - god that was evil :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,621 ✭✭✭Panda

    ack, just on it now.

    it looks disgustingly time consuming.
what general driection should one be looking in?

is it elimination of high lighted or unhighlighted?
    or something altogether more sinister?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 763 ✭✭✭Dar

    something altogether more sinister :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

anyone be so kind as to PM me the answer for 2.16, I have the number, I have searched the pages, I think the answer is something to do with
    javert from les mis
I've tried everything I can think of and search for, for the past 2 days and I am going mental........

AHA, 2.15 out of the way thanks to a sudden flash of inspiration, but ... 2.16 .... OMG!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 763 ✭✭✭Dar

Someone put me out of my misery on 2.08?
Have pieces put together to spell "butt hole". Just cant make the mental jump to the answer :).

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

    For 2.8:
You have the right words. Now look where butt is. Is it above the other word? Below? ON top of it?

2.14 looks a right b1tch [the ones previous to that aren't too bad]

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

What is the trick to doing 2.4?
I've looked at it for 2 days now and it's just not happening for me.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

    Which is 2.4 again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

    The carting one.

Ah yes - that one I didn't find too difficult once I realised certain things.
Initially, it makes no sense. Fred appears to pass Stan first, keeps up at the same speed, and yet Malcolm - who passes Stan 9s later - wins the race, also keeping his speed.
Figure out how this is possible - how on earth could Malcolm win if he's behind? Answer: HE'S NOT BEHIND FRED AND NEVER WAS.
Now from that you should - assuming your maths is correct - be able to work it out. Hurry along to 2.14 for me :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 763 ✭✭✭Dar

cheers ixoy - stuck on 2.09 tho :(
im assuming the letters have been superimposed over each other, so each block is one word, but i can only make out the smaller ones.

So at the mo i have:

    If you _ _ _ of it you _ _ it

Am i at least on the right track?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14 aliasflora

Yes, you're on the right tracks there Dar! :)

For 2.5, which is an evil little beastie as it has no clues in the question to help
you need to resize your browser window gradually until the blue blocks line up to form letters - one word answer. There is really no other way to get this answer, it all depends on if you can adjust the window size to make the blocks move into the right places

Anyone cracked 2.16 yet??? I'm as stumped as I've ever been

    thanks a million

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

for 2.16 number you get it
    24601
, you're supposed to google this to get the original but I can't find the correct answer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,806 ✭✭✭Lafortezza

    Q2.9, help anyone? :(
    answer preferably!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

    what is 2.9

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,621 ✭✭✭Panda

yaa i can kinda help someone!
each pic is a word with each letter of the word superimposed over the other. i brought it into photoshop zoomed in and inverted the colours, you can make out the letters then easily enough. im still missing the 3rd and 5th word though.....

if any of thats wrong, correct me please.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

yes that is right Panda, I found the 10th word the hardest...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,806 ✭✭✭Lafortezza

    Q2.10
I've got the message but can't figure out the answer from it,
"if youve read this hidden message then youre unlikely to know what you need to answer me" So I've read the message and I don't know what I need to answer the puzzle, my hungover little brain isn't working, any help?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,785 ✭✭✭eddhorse

its alrite for u guys that have photoshop for 2.9 , that tenth word is jibberish to me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

2.10 has a horrible twist to it. you need to find something other than the english alphabet to get your answer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,806 ✭✭✭Lafortezza

I actually got 2.11 and 2.12 myself, I'm so proud!
    Q2.13 has me consufed again,
is it something to do with opposites? whats the 'heads or tails' bit about?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

    2.13 is fairly easy.
It is to do with heads or tails but think of it in the context of the head and tail of a word

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,785 ✭✭✭eddhorse

is the tenth word in 2.9
    gamble
    so i have :
If you eat out much of it you _ _ gamble it
    how wrong is it people?>

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭bovril

out is wrong and gamble is wrong, you are getting close though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,621 ✭✭✭Panda

    thanks bovril,
    onward and upward ho.
Is the fact that the image is called battleships any sort of hint? or are they just complete and utter ****s at the puzzledonkey offices? could it binary, ones and zeros? or morse coder?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

Is this the puzzle "Say what you feel" ? In that case:
The donkey is being a ba5tard and battleships is mis-leading, unless there's something I missed. You're going to have to use the picture and title to puzzle out what the hell to do here and then you'll HAVE to use Google + a search to finish it off.
    Anyone for donkey burgers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,785 ✭✭✭eddhorse

if you eat too much of it you will _ it
    that all rite ?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

    Yeah, that's right eddhorse.

I got it from that with a little nudge - think in the mindset of a woman :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,785 ✭✭✭eddhorse

ok ok i got it eventually , phew that was a toughie

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,004 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

The next few aren't too bad, until you get to 2.14. What the hell is that about?!

    I mean:
OK so the U refers to Uppercase and the l = lowecase. Does the v=verb, n=noun? Or is there more to it than that? How do the + and - signs come into it: negative and positive connotations of verbs or nouns?
