Java FileDialog question

Hi, Is there any way to allow selection of more than one file at a time when using FileDialog or is there another class that handles that? I have used JFileChooser but it seems to be far too slow when opening BIG folders. The folders I'm working with contain several thousand files and it takes around a minute to open them…

I have used JFileChooser but it seems to be far too slow when opening BIG folders. The folders I'm working with contain several thousand files and it takes around a minute to open them (which is unacceptable delay). The basic FileDialog is much quicker but can't get it to allow multiple file selection!!

look into .getSelectedFiles (returns an array of Files, rather than just 1 File)+ "set filechooser to allow for multi-selection" ?
