Currently, quake3-1.ign.ie is setup in team mode (well sorta teammode). I kinda figured this out the hardway.

To change the game mode on q3, you have to type \CALLVOTE G_GAMETYPE <gametype>

g_gametype 0 – Free For All
g_gametype 1 - Tournament
g_gametype 2 – Single Player
g_gametype 3 – Team Deathmatch
g_gametype 4 – Capture the Flag

Once you have done that, do a map change. (im sure there is another way!)

Map changes are as - \CALLVOTE MAP <map>

It'll restart the server and bingo. Just one thing you have to watch is that you cant select a CTF game type and then choose a non-CTF map!

Try this:

g_gametype 9 – Hurlin'

Trust me it actually works and it is a sight to behold the trainer running onto the map when you need a bit of medical attention.
