Anyone interested in starting a Christmas card Campaign ? A kind of "All I want for Christmas is" and send a card to Dermot Ahern with a wishlist ?

Everyone have the same basic demands and then add in anything extra they'd like. Everyone then post them to his constituency office.

After the latest "Pretty Please Eircom" press Release from Comreg I think one of the demands should be to send someone in to the place with a cattle prod.

A very good idea. In fairness though, the card should also acknowledge/applaud the effectiveness of his intervention to date, perhaps contrasting it with the ineffectiveness of the regulator.

Actually very true. We do need to praise him for the genuinely good work he has done so far.

We could also do Christmas Tale style thing.

Ghosts of past, present and future visiting.

Past = Broadband with Mary , Present = Broadband with Dermo , Future = Broadband if Comreg still acts the bollox like its doing.

Not the time to think about the future. Ahern may well be promoted in the reshuffle that will come at the end of the "European Presidency" (c. July 2004). The likely candidates to succeed him do not raise a lot of excitement/confidence. He is by far and away the best we are likely to see in that role. And there are a few of the prospects for that Department that could end up making O’Rourke look good. Not a pleasant prospect.
