    Tuesday, 16th December, 2003

British Midlands (Regional) International has announced it will operate a daily jet service between Knock Airport and Glasgow International Airport from March 15th.

The new daily jet service, including weekends, will operate in the early afternoon, making the flight time from Knock to Scotland in 55 minutes.

BMI Regional started selling tickets on the Internet today, with web fares starting at €35 one-way, including taxes and charges.

"All signs indicate that there is strong demand for air services between the north west of Ireland and Scotland's west coast," Mr Alex Grant, Managing Director of BMI Regional, said.

Knock International Airport is Ireland's fourth international airport, and is the fastest-growing airport in the country.

It operates daily direct flights to and from Dublin, London Stansted, Manchester and Birmingham.

Charter flights to Lanzarote, Majorca /Palma, Malaga, Alicante and other European destinations for short breaks will operate throughout in 2004.
