New Society

A new society is opening after christmas. Jason O'Rourke a.k.a Excalibur is opening a card society which will feature such games as: switch, poker, 25s, switch, bull**** and switch.

So, everyone who know him better join!

Manticore dont be such a ****ing retarded twat, remember being banned the last time? The reason there is a card society is so that people who like to play cards(probably for money) can meet up regularly and play, people do have their own opinions you know

Eh isn't playin for money not allowed in the college so I just presume that it applys to societies aswell!:dunno:

The reason they don't allow ppl play for money in the college is cos casino stlye gamblin is illegal in Ireland (I think, I'm open for correction on this).

Manticore, the same could be said for any other society. It comes down to personal taste. Some ppl can't understand the point of having Compsoc! :rolleyes: That's just because they don't share the same need to spend hours locked in combat with a group of lads in a dark room!!! If you liked cards I reckon you'd think it was a marvellous idea, affording ppl the opportunity to meet like-minded ppl and engage in a shared hobby.ww)

i think they can bet if they say that it is a tournament and each person has to pay to be in the tournament and they winner simply takes the pot!! Like in Table quizzes etc.!!!

The reason I heard it was banned, was because back in the day a dublin college, im not sure which, had lots of people gambling. Lets just say it got very out of hand and people ended up losing their years grant with just one hand of poker... so I heard.
