Hypothetical question ... If I had a Mercedes and the tri-star got broken off the bonnet by accident... would it be difficult to replace and how much would it cost?

Hypothetically of course. *I could never afford a mercedes!*

I've seen them for anywhere from 25 to 50 dollars...to remove a star you open the bonnet and pull the heavy duty spring clip and turn through 90 degrees. I problerly should'nt have made that knowledge public!

edit GSF sell them for £12.00...

Dont bother with a mercedes dealer they'll ask for lots of money then you'll have to wait a week or three while they find it in thier warehouse...pick up the phone and dial 01 460 6062 which puts you in touch with GSF who specialise in German cars you will need a Credit Card though...failing that you could just try a breakers yard.
