The best Chinese in Dublin has to be Szechuan in Stillorgan. It`s already there for ages, and is always packed.

I think it`s mentioned in loads of Guides as well... really great food...

Best Chinese takeway is that Chess one in Dublin 7 I reckon.

I don't really go to Chinese restaurants when I go out for a meal so I dunno about that side of the fried rice equation.

The Orchid in Ballsbridge, just across from Jurys. Best chinese I've had in Ireland.

The one on upstairs on O'Connell St. just down from the savoy is good though, and pretty cheap if you have the set meals which are very nice, and the set meal for 2 has enough for a decent dsoggy bag in it too. :D

Steer clear of The Great Wall in Blackrock though, they seem to use some sort of lard for cooking and it gets on everything. the prawn crackers have a film all over them that sticks to the roof of your mouth when you eat them. not nice.

The Canton House in Irishtown does lovely food and it's reasonably priced!

The Golden Elephant in Dun Laoghaire is pretty good. They do Thai food as well. If you're ever in Nottingham, The China Garden is amazing... their giant spring rolls have to be seen/tasted to be believed!

    Furama in Donnybrook.
Wong's in Ranelagh (nice but overpriced).
Cassia in Templeogue (above the Morgue pub).

Yeah, I always thought it was good value and the food is always nice. Someone mentioned the Goodview in Irishtown - steer well clear of that place!

    ahem... Ladies and Gentlemen,

You will be suprised to find out how many taste buds have remained dormant in your mouths until you visit either or both the following

    Amber Regent
    Main St.
    Leixlip
Co. Kildare (20 mins drive from dublin city centre)

They do the most fantastic food and i hear poeple from all over the Leinster come to Leixlip because of it, I now understand why! Their Satay Chicken and Cantonese Chicken, noodles and everything else on the menu are the most Deleicious things i have ever tasted.
    Also:

    Ms Wong's
Ralph Square (just off main st.)
    Leixlip
Co. Kildare (again only 20 mins from Dublin city centre)

Pretty much same as above, top quality everything. except I have to say, when they bring out your desert, they also bring out a bowl of fresh fruit with a chinese silver vase thingy in the middle, they pour in some water from a jug and put a lid on it and out seeps dry ice from little tiny holes in the vase thingy and it crawls out all over your fresh fruit and your table like mist, it looks so stunning and impressive, it really nicely finishes off your meal, also chils the fruit nicely too ;-)

hope you have as good experiences as i do in these places, i have tried many restraunts in dublin but none compare to these 2. I really am spoilt here ;-)
