i just bought a zen and am happy with it except i noticed when i played a song with a lot of bass there seems to be mucho distortion.can i improve the situation with better headphones ? or is it a limitation of the jukebox.im looking for discreet headphones maybe even the ones that go into your ear but sound quality is first consideration.can anyone advise thanks

I've had a Zen for about a year now - never noticed any distortion. Try it with a better set of earphones maybe (the one's you get with it are sh\te.)

I think the the sound quality of the Nomad's is one of their biggist selling points.

I found even with in ear phones that better quality sets make a huge difference in bass especially.

I was having the same problem with bass on my Zen, and I think it's a limitation of the player.

Try to run MP3Gain (http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net) on your MP3's first. (use "Track Gain" mode)

Try turning off any EAX settings, too.
