Anyone see Louis Theroux among the very white trash of sourthern California? By the end he had proved that you just cant talk a thorough-going racist/supremist round. I felt sorry for the two young daughters - they semed great except for what they were being taught.

    Mike.

Yeah, the two little girls seemed really cute, and I felt sorry that their 'mother' was filling them with such hate. They really didn't know better

Overall, there seemed to be a lot of hypocrisy among the nazis. From the guy being friends with a Peruvian guy, to going to Mexico to get drunk, and the mother who was proud that her family came from Denmark or Norway, but later complained about people speaking in different languages.

It just made me angry about how stupid, but stubborn these people are.

Big fan of Louis and his programmes by the way.

Interesting and very good way he goes about-is all sympathetic and non confrontational about it and then at the end pushes them for answers. How those people are so fixed in there views is unbelievable, that they can't see how hypocritical they are. It looked like some of them are only in it for the power and whatever bit of status it gives them among the other skinheads. The bits of the mother and the 2 girls tho would make u sick, I had to change channel a few times it got so bad.

Is there no law there to prevent children being brought up as neo-nazis ?

Surely social services could do something about it.

The program showed what a bunch of hypocritical idiots the californian nazis are !

Being a neo-nazi is not illegal and I would hope that it wouldn't be, although I detest their politics.
I remember one of the few professed skinheads in my high school dating a black girl. Hilarious!
The ones you really have to worry about are the well educated non-trailor trash, otherwise I find them laughable ('cept for their kids being indoctrinated).

It was interesting that they were quite honest about their racism, in contrast to the more 'respectable' racists and multiculturalism haters in our midst. See this thread. At least the nazis are consistent and don't lump the jews in on our (white christian) side. Let's not forget whose birthday it is tomorrow and who had him nailed up so a common thief could be set free.

IMHO, there should be a level of censorship to speech. I mean I take it you're a Yank (I use the term endearingly hehehe) from your comment about "high school". I lived in the U.S. for a while and I've seen the reverence that a lot of people hold for constitutional rights etc., most especially the right to freedom of speech et al.

But I think that freedom should be curbed when its used to incite hatred and racism in others, for example the indoctrination of the kids in the show.

I personally don't care if some guy/girl standing beside me hates jews or thinks women/men are inferior. I care about the damage he/she can cause by expressing his/her opinions and inciting others by their point of view. That's where censorship should come in.

Of course, with censorship comes responsibility (just adding that so people don't jump all over me) and we'd need an impartial legislative body to prevent injustices such as curbing people expressing dissatisfaction in their govt. or openly protesting against a political act (such as war).

But to say everyone should be allowed to express every view they have, regardless of its potential effect, is not freedom of speech, its irresponsibility.

He, he:) - but in order to decide upon what is responsible you have to accept either a majority verdict (which is like asking 3 wolves and a sheep what they would like for dinner), a minority of intellectuals (now where did I see that before?) or, allow Rousseau style extensive free speach for all.

Gusss which one I favour :)

Its a slippery slope to ban certain things being said.

    Ban Nazi's
    Most will agree on it

Then Ban the Anarchists, those guys are always causing trouble

Then maybe Ban those damm Socialists :)

First off there is an incitment to hatred act, which prevents againist people saying, go kill bill cause hes black, infact kill all blacks.

However saying "All blacks are stupid" is an opinion, no matter how stupid you think it is, its an opinion. It deserves the right to be heard.

If you push it underground, it will mean it will never be solved..
I love hearing people say "Black people are stupid" because everytime I hear it some person besides me goes "jesus that guys a moron", thats means the problem is slowly but surly being solved, and will eventually be solved.
Banning it will just push it underground and it will remain in our society forever.

And that's what I agree with. Like I said earlier, I don't care if the person beside me hates jews. They have that luxury. They can even voice their hatred. But as you pointed out (and I'm glad you did cause I was unsure if such an act existed) where it contravenes the incitement to hatred act is where I draw the line on freedom of speech.

A personal example, and I'm sure I'll get ripped on this. I have a problem with homosexuality. Do I hate them, no, I just have a problem with the concept. Does that give me the right to go out and kick the crap out of a homosexual or incite others to do it - no it doesn't. They have as much right to exist as I do.

I really enjoyed Tom trying to deny he was "friends" with the Peruvian guy, when it was obvious they got on really well. Tom was a fake racist - he taled the talk, but he wasn't really a racist.

That bloody woman was soooo hypocritical though. Does she realise that the vast majority of the world is neither white nor Christian? I hope she gets her wish, and is someday locked away in a little box on her own, where nobody's opposing view can interrupt. It'd be hilarious, if it weren't for the indoctrination of her daughters. The song about South Africa was scary...

Especially when you consider that it contained lyrics about the black man killing white men and taking their land. The racists don't seem to remember anything previous to that!
