Turbo was the standard Impreza officially sold here, power was something like 205bhp. The grey import at the time (around 1994-2001) was the WRX STi, there were loads of different versions around. When the original Impreza was replaced in 2001 with the horrible round headlight car, the Turbo became the WRX (had something like 220bhp) and the latest update to that now includes the STi version (276bhp) as well as the standard WRX. I'm just going on memory here so correct me if I'm wrong anybody.

The STI version is the 'Subaru Technica Industrie. Basically like what Cosworth was or is to Ford. Its the racing / modded version of the already fast WRX or GT (Whatever year).

I think STi are part of Subaru though, unlike the Ford/Cosworth relationship. Prodrive would probably be the Subaru equivalent.

Ye. STI are part of versus Cosworth not being - I higlighted that more to show waht STI does for Subaru than ownership etc.
