DVD Purchase Advice needed

I recently bought a Panasonic S35, needless to say I am returning it, due to the lack regionfree and macrovision hacks etc.(I bought it blindly due to lack of net access)


It has been a while since I have been on the lookout for a player, seemingly many of them now play divx4, 5 and Xvid content.

Can anyone make any recommendations for a player which will play all dvd formats -+, divx, vcd, svcd and with very good picture quality along with bountiful regionfree and macrovision hacks.

am I asking too much here? In the range of 100-250 €

I have done a fair bit of reading but I'd like to hear some advice from you folks.

Lidl have a DVD player for €60 today plays almost everything, very good deal!!!

There is a lite on dvd playter out there that plays divx movies, it used to be on www.svp.co.uk but i cant seem to find it. Afaik divx support is very uncommon though.

Thanks for the links Truckle, seems as if most of the players I saw were mainly available in the states .

Buying a dvd player is as hard as buying a film! so many choices.
